Antikythera Shipwreck - Marble statue
Antikythera Shipwreck statue of an athlete. Parian marble. Early 1st century BCE.
The right side of the statue is well preserved (probably protected by being buried in the sand), while the left side exhibits heavy corrosion from being at the bottom of the Aegean for 2000 years.
