THE INTENSIFICATION OF MARITIME TRADE
From the 3rd century BC and especially after the Second Punic War, commercial navigations from the Italian peninsula took center stage. The port of Emporion played a fundamental role in the reactivation of this trade circuit, through which shipments of amphorae of Italian wine arrived, accompanied by ceramic tableware of the same origin.
