This pillar-shaped funerary stele is a significant example of early epigraphy from Ambracia. The name of the deceased, ΘΕΥΦΑΝΙ... (Theophanis), is deeply engraved into the stone in an early Greek script. The pillar form is a more primitive and austere monument type compared to the elaborate pedimental stelae of later centuries. The lettering reflects the transition from the Archaic to the Classical period, providing vital evidence for the development of the local alphabet and the long-standing Corinthian influence on the city's funerary and linguistic traditions.

Αυτή η επιτύμβια στήλη σε σχήμα πεσσού αποτελεί ένα σημαντικό δείγμα πρώιμης επιγραφικής από την Αμβρακία. Το όνομα του θανόντος, ΘΕΥΦΑΝΙ..., είναι βαθιά χαραγμένο στον λίθο με πρώιμη ελληνική γραφή. Η μορφή του πεσσού είναι ένας πιο απέριττος και αρχαϊκός τύπος μνημείου σε σύγκριση με τις περίτεχνες αετωματικές στήλες των μεταγενέστερων αιώνων. Η γραφή αντανακλά τη μετάβαση από την αρχαϊκή στην κλασική περίοδο, παρέχοντας ζωτικές μαρτυρίες για την εξέλιξη του τοπικού αλφαβήτου και τη μακροχρόνια κορινθιακή επίδραση στις ταφικές και γλωσσικές παραδόσεις της πόλης.
