Access to the site remains challenging due to the environmental conditions of the Ambracian marshlands. Observations from 2013 indicate that the final approach via the mud-heavy paths is difficult for standard vehicles; excessive terrain instability required parking approximately 1 km from the ruins. Furthermore, the terrain lacks stable, level ground for pedestrian transit across the expanse leading to the edge of the marshland. This isolation preserves the site's original character as a difficult-to-reach military outpost, as described in the accounts of Polybius.

Η πρόσβαση στην τοποθεσία παραμένει δυσχερής λόγω των περιβαλλοντικών συνθηκών των βάλτων του Αμβρακικού. Παρατηρήσεις από το 2013 καταδεικνύουν ότι η τελική προσέγγιση μέσω των λασπωδών μονοπατιών είναι δύσκολη για συμβατικά οχήματα· η υπερβολική αστάθεια του εδάφους επέβαλε τη στάθμευση των οχημάτων σε απόσταση περίπου 1 χλμ. από τα ερείπια. Επιπλέον, το ανάγλυφο στερείται σταθερού, επίπεδου εδάφους για την πεζή διέλευση καθ' όλη τη διαδρομή προς την άκρη του βάλτου.
