Delphi Stadium
Delphi stadium as it appeared in the 1927 Pythian Games revival.
The stadium was built in the 5th c. BCE with temporary seating. It was upgraded with limestone seating in the 2nd c. BCE through the patronage of wealthy Athenian, Herodus Atticus. The track is 177.5 meters long, and 25.5 meters wide. It has 12 tiers of seating on the north side, and six in the southern and and on the west curved end. It could hold around 7000 spectators. It held the athletic events during the Pythian Games.
