Mycenae: Tomb of Clytemnestra Interior

Mycenae: Tomb of Clytemnestra corbelled construction. Late 13th c. BCE.

Tholos Tomb of Clytemnestra. While its name implies that Agamemnon's wife was buried in it, there is no such evidence. The tomb was looted by Veli Pasha during Ottoman rule, but otherwise is in excellent shape and shows exceptional corbelled masonry craftsmanship. Mycenae Archaeological site. Peloponnese, Greece.
