Variant of the statue type of the Knidian Aphrodite, a work of Praxiteles' maturity (364-361 BC).
The copy dates from the times of the emperor Antoninus Pius (138-161 AD), apart from the head, which belongs to the times of the emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD).
