Model of the Greek ship of Kyrenia
Model of the Greek ship of Kyrenia
A model that reproduces a Greek merchant ship that sank near the coast of the island of Cyprus at the end of the 4th century BC. The construction of its hull already fully corresponds to the system of fastening with mortises and pegs. It had a capacity for 25 metric tons of merchandise and was transporting, at the time of the shipwreck, about 400 amphorae with wine and stone hopper mills.
