This topographical model reconstructs the Acropolis of Athens as it appeared in 480 BCE, shortly before its destruction by the Persians. The layout illustrates the sanctuary prior to the grand Periclean building program of the Classical era. Key visible structures include the unfinished "Older Parthenon" (Pre-Parthenon) surrounded by construction scaffolding, the "Old Temple" of Athena Polias, and the ancient Mycenaean Cyclopean walls that continued to fortify the citadel.

Αυτό το τοπογραφικό πρόπλασμα αναπαριστά την Ακρόπολη των Αθηνών όπως εμφανιζόταν το 480 π.Χ., λίγο πριν από την καταστροφή της από τους Πέρσες. Η διάταξη απεικονίζει το ιερό πριν από το μεγαλειώδες οικοδομικό πρόγραμμα του Περικλή της Κλασικής εποχής. Στις κύριες ορατές κατασκευές περιλαμβάνονται ο ημιτελής «Προπαρθενώνας» (Παλαιός Παρθενώνας) περιτριγυρισμένος από ικριώματα (σκαλωσιές) κατασκευής, ο «Αρχαίος Ναός» της Αθηνάς Πολιάδος και τα αρχαία μυκηναϊκά κυκλώπεια τείχη που εξακολουθούσαν να οχυρώνουν τον βράχο.
