Terracotta loom weights from the Sitia District, dating to the 14th–12th Century BCE. These weights were essential components of the vertical warp-weighted loom, used to keep the warp threads taut during the weaving process. Several examples shown here feature distinctive seal imprints and small perforations at the corners, reflecting the organized textile production and administrative practices of the Post-palatial communities in Eastern Crete.
Πήλινα υφαντικά βάρη (αγνύθες) από την περιοχή της Σητείας, που χρονολογούνται στην Υστερομινωική ΙΙΙ περίοδο (14ος–12ος αι. π.Χ.). Τα βάρη αυτά ήταν απαραίτητα εξαρτήματα του όρθιου αργαλειού, και χρησίμευαν για να κρατούν τεντωμένα τα νήματα του στημονιού κατά τη διάρκεια της ύφανσης. Αρκετά από τα εικονιζόμενα δείγματα φέρουν χαρακτηριστικά αποτυπώματα σφραγίδων και μικρές οπές στις γωνίες, αντανακλώντας την οργανωμένη υφαντουργική παραγωγή και τις διοικητικές πρακτικές των μετανακτορικών κοινοτήτων της Ανατολικής Κρήτης.
