Archaic relief, depicting Hermes and Artemis. 6th century BCE.
The two gods move towards each other, holding their symbols, Artemis the bow and Hermes the caduceus (a stick with two snakes coiled round it, a symbol of the capacity of Hermes as messenger of the gods). The left side of the relief has an incised depiction of a palm tree.
