The acropolis of Karthaia commands a strategic coastal position overlooking the Aegean Sea. The structural remains feature the foundations of Building D in the foreground and the monumental propylon situated in the distance. Below the fortified terraces, the natural bay and a small contemporary church.

Η ακρόπολη της Καρθαίας κατέχει μια στρατηγική παράκτια θέση με θέα στο Αιγαίο Πέλαγος. Τα δομικά κατάλοιπα περιλαμβάνουν τα θεμέλια του Κτηρίου Δ σε πρώτο πλάνο και το μνημειακό πρόπυλο που βρίσκεται στο βάθος. Κάτω από τα οχυρωμένα άνδηρα, ο φυσικός όρμος και ένας μικρός σύγχρονος ναός.
