A Lion from Delos in Venice

One of the lions from Delos was pilfered by Venetians in 1716. Now on display in Venice, Italy.

In 1716 one of the lions was taken by Venetians because it reminded them of the lion of Saint Mark. They added a preposterous head to it, and installed it in front of the Arsenal where it can still be seen today.
