Asprochaliko archaeological site sign

The Hellenic Ministry of Culture sign at the archeological site reads: “Asprochaliko was excavated between 1964 and 1966, and has a 6-meter sequence of Mousterian and Upper Paleolithic industries, with over half a million flaked stone tools and fragments of animal bone. The site was in use from about 100,000 yeas ago, and is believed to have been used in spring and autumn by people following herds of red deer and gild goat in their seasonal migrations between the coast and the hinterland.”
