Linear B Script Clay Tablet from Knossos. 14-13 c. BCE. Bronze Age Greece. Linear B, an primitive form of Greek, was used in the late Bronze Age and was deciphered in 1953.

Linear B script was used by the Mycenaeans in the mainland and in Crete during the later Minoan times. Linear B was deciphered in 1953 and shown to be a primitive form of Greek. Most of the tablets found have been translated to contain inventories of goods in storage, and do shed some indirect light into the life of a prosperous society.

Exhibited at the Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Crete, Greece.
