This is a combination of two photographs: the Parthenon at the Acropolis, and the pediment reconstruction from the Acropolis museum.
The pediment reconstruction is follows an 1896 drawing by K. Schwerzek. Much of the composition and arrangement is based on very scant evidence, but it gives a good impression of the overall look and feel of the pediment as if it were intact.
In ancient times, the Parthenon would have been vividly painted throughout, (including the columns and the statues), but after 2500 years, the pigments have washed away.
Exhibited at the Acropolis Museum, Athens, Greece.
