Ivory statuette known as "Palaikastro Kouros". Three views. 15th c. BCE.

Palaikastro Kouros views from front, back, and side.
Found at the Palaikastro settlement in three parts. It is made of hippopotamus ivory (probably imported from Egypt). Its head is carved from serpentine, the eyes made of rock crystal, its internal bowels made from wood, and its clothes consisted of gold leaf.
Neopalatial period, 50 cm tall.
Exhibited in the Archaeological Museum of Sitia, Crete. Greece
