The relief at the Lion Gate of Bouthroton (Butrint) depicts a lion devouring a bull.
The sculptural relief itself was carved in the late 6th century BCE, originally belonging to an earlier Archaic building (such as a temple on the acropolis) before being repositioned and incorporated into the gate structure later in antiquity (around the 5th century CE).
