The monumental foundations of the Temple of Asklepios dominate the upper terrace of the sanctuary. Built as a Doric peripteral structure during the 2nd century BCE, this temple represents the final grand architectural phase of the Asklepieion. Its elevated position and massive crepidoma provided a dramatic focal point for the entire complex, visible from the lower terraces and the sea, symbolizing the culmination of the pilgrim's journey toward the god of healing.

Τα μνημειακά θεμέλια του Ναού του Ασκληπιού δεσπόζουν στο ανώτατο άνδηρο του ιερού. Κατασκευασμένος ως δωρικός περίπτερος ναός κατά τον 2ο αιώνα π.Χ., αυτό το οικοδόμημα αντιπροσωπεύει την τελευταία μεγάλη αρχιτεκτονική φάση του θρησκευτικού πυρήνα του Ασκληπιείου. Η υπερυψωμένη θέση του και η ογκώδης κρηπίδα του αποτελούσαν ένα δραματικό σημείο αναφοράς για ολόκληρο το συγκρότημα, ορατό από τα κατώτερα άνδηρα και τη θάλασσα, συμβολίζοντας την κορύφωση της πορείας του προσκυνητή προς τον θεό της ίασης.
