Treasury

A “treasury” in ancient Greece was a building that sheltered a city-state’s wealth and votive offerings to a god. Temples often served as the treasury that safeguarded a city-state’s wealth. Dedicated treasury buildings were erected by wealthy city-states in order to impress and to win favor with the gods.
